Overall Learning Objectives

At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

    • Synthesize emerging evidence from interdisciplinary fields in geriatric mental health, bringing together advances in neurobiology, cognitive aging research, digital health innovation, and data science and translate these advances into collaborative, team-based clinical practice that incorporates current best practice.
    • Critically examine evolving Canadian policy domains — including MAiD (advance requests and mental illness), long-term care mental health standards, trauma recovery, fraud-related psychological harm, and care for structurally vulnerable populations — and articulate the role of interdisciplinary leaders in shaping equitable, person-centered implementation.
    • Design and promote integrated care models that leverage primary care partnerships, nursing, pharmacy, allied health, and community organizations to enhance non-pharmacological interventions, relational autonomy, and coordinated support for older adults and caregivers across care settings.
