![]() | “Debate: Medical Assistance in Dying: Advance Requests in Dementia” Join us for a thought-provoking and timely debate on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) Advance Requests in Dementia, presented in partnership with the Canadian Conference on Dementia. This session will feature leading experts Daphne Gilbert and Dr. James Downar, who will critically examine the ethical, legal, and clinical dimensions of advance requests for MAiD in the context of cognitive decline. As the landscape of end-of-life care continues to evolve, this debate offers an essential forum for scholarly dialogue and informed reflection on a complex and consequential issue in Canadian healthcare. This session will be followed by an engaging post-debate discussion to keep the conversation going with CAGP-CCSMH ASM attendees. |
