Did you know that 100% of donations to the CAGP are put toward funding our existing trainee awards? The purpose of our Annual Resident award is to promote the development of future geriatric psychiatrists by providing the successful candidates with financial support to attend our Annual Scientific meeting where they present a poster outlining a scholarly activity in the field. The goal of the Annual Training award supports the research commitments of those resident/fellows who are actively pursuing sub-specialization.  It helps to fund their academic project which can be in the field of education, service development, advocacy or research as well as travel to the annual meeting where they present on their project to the Academy in attendance. We are always looking at ways to create more of these initiatives. The exposure of interested trainees to members of the Academy by attendance at the Annual meeting helps to influence career decisions by fostering relationships with those who are passionate about older adult mental health care. Check out the awards criteria at<>.  Donations can be made online. Thank you in advance for your support.

Kind regards,

Carol Ward, MD
Chair, Awards Committee

PLEASE NOTE: The CAGP cannot provide patients with the names of physicians providing care to patients. The Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons in most Canadian provinces and territories maintain a website for patients to find a physician by specialty. A list of these governing bodies is available on the Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada’s website.
