Education

The CAGP is active in a number of education initiatives to promote mental health in the Canadian elderly population. This is accomplished through:

• Enhancing awareness of geriatric psychiatry as a career choice for physicians.
  
• Promoting the transfer of knowledge regarding the management of elderly mentally ill patients in our communities, long term care facilities and hospitals.
  
• Promoting the career of young physicians and sponsoring awards/grants that support academic growth and research.
